AURÉLIEN VANDEBURIE

Aurélien Vandeburie holds a Master Degree in Law (ULB, 2004) and a PhD (UNamur, 2013).

He is an attorney at the Brussels bar since 2004. He was previously affiliated with Elegis and Liedekerke Wolters Waelbroeck Kirkpatrick. He joined Portico in February 2019.

Aurélien’s area of expertise includes administrative law, with a predominant focus on public procurement law, public contracts, public-private partnerships and public property.

He also has an in-depth knowledge of the Congolese law regarding public procurement and public-private partnerships.

Aside from litigation, Aurélien regularly intervenes in all stages of the procurement process (project structuring, drafting of award documents, assistance with the drafting of tenders, evaluation reports, and drafting of the contract). He assists both awarding authorities and companies with the follow-up of the execution of a public contract.

He recently intervened in mixed projects (public-private) regarding housing, commercial centers, office buildings, …

Aurélien is a lecturer at the ULB, where he teaches administrative law. He also teaches several courses on public procurement to professionals.

Aurélien is a member of the editorial board of several journals (Chroniques de droit public ; revue pratique de l’immobilier ; revue des contrats et des marchés publics ; revue générale de droit civil).
